Instructions

It is a requirement to set up 2FA on your VALR account in order to verify to the correct level and to enable API access. It is also good practice as it ensures your and your funds’ safety by enabling 2FA on your account.

Ensure you are logged in. Click on your name in the top right corner of the VALR page. Select “Settings” from the drop down.

The following screen will appear. Click on “Security” again.

On the following page under the “Two-factor authentication” section, click on the “Use an app” button.

Click on “I’ve downloaded an app” – note that we suggest Authy rather than Google Authenticator to use as your 2FA app.

Scan the QR code with Authy (or enter it manually) from the next page. Click the “Next” button when done.

Store your recovery code somewhere safe. If you’re using Authy this isn’t necessary as the app automatically backs up your 2FA keys.

Tick the checkbox next to “I’ve stored my code somewhere safe” and then click the “Activate” button.

Your security settings should now show that 2FA is enabled via a smartphone app and give you the option to disable it.
