Instructions

In order for us to perform automated trading using our script, we need to gain access to your account using an API, which gives limited access to your account.

Ensure you are logged in. Click on your name in the top right corner of the VALR page. Select “Settings” from the drop down.

The following screen will appear. Click on “API Keys”.

Click on the “Create API Key” button.

Read the next screen, click on the “I acknowledge the risks” button.

On the next screen, give the API key a name.

Tick all three of the checkboxes (View access, Trade, and Withdraw).

Then click on the “+” button next to “Whitelist Withdrawal Address”. This will open up a new screen.

From the currency dropdown list, select “BTC” – bitcoin.

Then copy and paste the below withdrawal address:

NB: It’s important to copy this address exactly as it appears above. Any mistakes could result in a loss of funds or a delay in processing.

Then click on the “Add” button.

On the next screen, click on the “Next: Authorize by email” button.

The following screen will appear. Check your emails.

In the email received from VALR, check that the details are correct and if so, click on the “Authorize API Key” button.

You will be required to enter in a 2FA code from Authy now.

The following page will show your API Key and Secret.

Please copy the text of both by clicking on them and pasting them into a document to send to Lumina.

NB: It’s important to keep these credentials safe – whoever has access to these keys can trade with your account. You will need to share these keys with Lumina using the form below so that we can automate the trading process. Please do not store a copy of these keys – you will not need them again.
