Now you’ll need to wait for SARS to approve the application. This can take a while. Typically within a week or two, but occasionally a month or two depending on how busy SARS is.

You should receive an SMS when this has been done, which should look like this:

Dear Taxpayer, the tax compliance status request for FIA for tax no 0*****1234 is issued and the corresponding PIN is 1234567H9. SARS.
