First Time TCS Activation

Instructions

If this is the first time you are applying for an FIA application, you will need to follow these steps to activate the Tax Compliance Status (TCS) System.

Once logged-in to SARS website, click on the ‘Tax Status’ button in the top right hand corner of the screen.

The bar on the left will change. Now click on ‘Tax Compliance Status’:

From the drop-down, select ‘Activation’ as below. If there are other options there, please skip to the next step.

On the new page displayed, check that your ID number and tax number is correct. Then click on the two checkboxes before clicking on the ‘Activate’ button.

The page should reflect that the status is ‘Awaiting Registration Verification’. Click ‘Continue’.

You should now log out of eFiling by clicking the top right corner’s ‘Log Out’ button. Log back in and navigate to the activation page. The status should now show ‘Successfully Activated’ as below. Click on either the ‘Continue’ button.

You are now activated to apply for your foreign investment allowance.

Proceed to the next step.
